Website Designs For Google

Google is hands down the largest search engine on the internet. That is why it is important to understand what they “google” is looking for when they index and rank websites. Below you will find just a few tips that will help improve your rank with google. This is not the solve all catch all article you may be looking for….by the way if you find it, let us know. There are many resources out there both books and blogs that will help you with your search for website design heaven and getting it done “right”. One thing I have learned over the years is that there are often many ways to get the job done, some ways are just more simple than others. These are just a few real simple tips to assure your and search engines that your content and page structure are good to go!

This one is simple, but often not done well. Remember, keywords chosen by you should be found in the content of your site. So, webdesigns for google should contain the keywords you are using for your page optimization. Generally speaking your key words and title tag information should be consolidated more toward the top of your web pages. Typically when site crawlers go through your pages they always start at the top, but do not necessarily go through completely to the bottom. Simple, right? Good!

Title tags are probably the most weighted in terms of tags that Google looks for. Title tags generally are comprised of 3 dozen or less characters and include specifics such as what terms or phases people may utilize when searching for your products or services.
Another type of tag is whats called and ALT Tag. ALT Tags are words used to describe the images within your site. This is something worth taking the time to add if you have not already. To find out if an image has an ALT Tag, slowly roll your mouse over the image and the tag will show up. Generally if the image has trouble loading or does not load properly, the ALT Tag will show up in its place.

Linking your site to other popular sites within your same industry will help your index rankings. Remember, the sites you link to must be relevant and reliable sites, not just any site will do. The better their ranking the more they will help.
To find out what sights are linked to yours and what pages you have indexed try doing a search for your site. Once you have the search results; the entries you will find are your sites indexed pages and the sites which are linked to your website.

Hopefully you found these few tips helpful. While this is not the holy grail of google ranking tips, they will help. There is a common phrase in website development that is “ Test and tweek, then test again”. It is important to continually try to improve your website and its ranking.
